Christmas 2008

I am very slow to post this, as usual, but wanted to share a few Christmas pictures. We had such a fun Christmas! The best part about it, Jake was off work for the whole week!!! He has been so busy at work, working tons of hours(residency can be brutal), that it was just nice to have him home. We didn't do a whole lot, just lots of family time...sleeping in late, eating out, shopping, building a snowman, eating lots of goodies and playing with the boys.
Jake and Luke had a great time building "Frosty",according to Luke, the snowman. Michigan got a huge snowstorm right before Christmas, but sadly it melted rather quickly from the rain a few days later. Now, anytime it snows, Luke says Santa is coming to town b/c he is bringing the snow! Jake says this is the biggest snowman he has ever built!

On Christmas Eve, a family from our ward invited us over for a yummy dinner. After we ate way too much, especially dessert(she made about every yummy dessert imaginable and yes, I had to try at least one of everything! Especially b/c I was going to start one of my New Year's resolutions...NO CHOCOLATE, including NO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES...I've been good so far but we'll see how long this lasts!!!)we headed home to open one gift which was their Christmas jammies.

Don't mind the dying Christmas tree that I let the boys go and pick out w/o me. It actually didn't look that bad, just the bottom was a little droopy!

And yes, Luke finally got his transformers that he patiently waited for Santa to bring him. He was so happy that Santa brought him what he wanted.

We watched Luke open gift after gift after gift and LOVED all of them. He didn't even want to watch cartoons for about a week!! Jake and I both agreed that once again, we went way overboard, and are definitely going to tone it down next year!

Colton's favorite Christmas present was the wrapping paper, of course!

Oh, there was one thing that Luke wasn't too excited about, his main gift , a cool Tony Hawk dirt bike that Jake and I were just sure he was going to love. Perhaps when the weather gets nice he will love it too!
Now, life is back to reality, but we look forward to our trip out to Utah in two weeks!

I better be on the list of people you visit!!! Thanks for sharing. I really miss you guys and wish you were closer! Looks like you had a fabulous Christmas! It's always so great to have Dad around isn't it. I hate going back to normal life after Christmas.

Okay, where do I start. The pic of Jake with the boys is darling!

That is definately the biggest snowman I have ever seen.

And Colten has now tied Luke for the cutest smile.

Can not wait to see you in a couple of weeks!
